Moms, you know the feeling – it’s about 4 pm, a long way from a dinner time break and soon enough after the kids get out of school for you to be totally and completely exhausted. And stressed out. And ready to sit down in the floor and thrown you hands up in the air. Yeah, I know it’s not just me. Admit it – you’re there most days too! So, what do you do? How do you make it through? If you’re like me, you need a little Mommy Pick-Me-Up and what better way to spend a few minutes regaining your sanity that with an amazing glass of International Delight Mocha iced coffee from Sam’s Club?
For me, 4 pm is the witching hour. It’s the hour when MillerBug has a meltdown, J-Man decides that he need help with everything and even the dog decides that peeing on the carpet is an acceptable form of self-expression. And while other mama’s have often suggested something a little stronger to get through this time, for me the ultimate relaxation treat is a glass of International Delight Mocha iced coffee and 10 minutes on our back porch. After that, I can once again face the rest of the day!
Now, I know, 10 minutes is not a lot of time but when you’re the busy mom of two that’s about all the break you get from helping with homework, planning out meals and soothing cranky toddlers. So I have to make those 10 minutes count! And how do I do that? Well, each afternoon I crank up the TiVo, queue up the Bubble Guppies and sneak quietly to the back porch with my iced coffee. Just me. No one else is allowed. Except for my little friend the coffee cup. Sometimes I add fruit to the mix and sometimes I just caffeine it up. But what is always the same is the smooth, choclately taste of International Delight Mocha! It’s just sweet enough to give me the boost I need and goes down smooth, quenching my thirst and leaving me ready to face the remainder of the day!
Whether I drink it alone or indulge in a fruity snack with it, once I walk through that door, for just a few minutes I have total and complete peace. I listen to the birds. I look at the beautiful mountains. And I breath in the quiet.
J-Man knows that during this short amount of time, I’m not to be disturbed unless there is a life threatening emergency. MillerBug is quickly being trained in the same way. And while they may think it strange that mama goes out on the porch, closes her eyes and enjoys her iced coffee every afternoon, they are smart enough not to question it.
So why is this my daily escape? Well, it’s pretty simple. This is the one way, on a budget (about 43 cents per glass when you buy it at Sam’s – how that for frugal?), that I can do something daily that is totally and completely for me. It doesn’t have to do with the kids. It doesn’t have to do with the hubby. It is completely, 100% about Mommy time! And it makes all the difference in the world!
Do you have a daily ritual that keeps you sane mom? Something you do that breaks up the afternoon and gets you through the rest of the day? If not, I highly encourage you to find some time for YOU! That daily break that is all about you will refresh you, rejuvenate you and give you the focus and energy you need to make it till bedtime! Yes, something as simple as a 10 minute break can do all that! And now Sam’s Club can help you get the break you need with Mocha International Delight Iced Coffee! Because starting in May, they will be offering it in the refrigerated section of their stores! Say it with me now – MOCHA! COFFEE! YUM! And all at with the convenience of Sam’s prices and packaging!
