With two boys in my home, things are never really clean. They can make messes just by looking in a general direction. And I often feel like I am always running for the carpet cleaner or Windex to clean up after their adventures. But I always hesitate to use those items when they are around because of the smells they leave behind. And honestly, after a certain amount of time, they don’t really work as well and you’re left with a grungy look in your home. So, with the holidays rapidly approaching, I decided it was time for a change. Now, this change needed to be two-fold. First, I needed my home to be sparkling clean when guests came in. I think anybody can relate to that. When you have guests come in you want the house to shine, right? But I also wanted to make it shine in the most budget efficient way. Because my boys both have their eyes on some pretty major Christmas presents and I’m trying to save up for them. So, I did a little research to figure out how I could meet both of these holiday goals.
And what I came up with surprised me (and it might surprise you too!). I discovered that something I already had in my cabinet could clean, polish and freshen both me and my house! All while saving money! What was it you ask? Are you ready, cause you’re going to be surprised! It is Arm & Hammer Baking Soda! Now before you way “yeah, right” let me tell you (and show you) what I mean.
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda can be used for so many things around the house. You know how you use different sprays to clean your counter tops? Well, Arm & Hammer will get them sparkling clean! Simply sprinkle it on your cabinets and then use a wet sponge or cloth to wipe it clean and then rinse and dry your counter tops. This is a great way to clean up after foods on the counter (think my biggest fear, raw chicken) and doesn’t leave behind the strong scent that other cleaner do! But the thing that I really fell in love with Arm & Hammer for is it’s ability to vaporize odors! You see, we have a baby. And babies wear diapers. And diaper pails stink! But by using Arm & Hammer, we can get rid of those odors! We simply sprinkle it into our diaper pail and it does all the work! This can also be used for trash cans but if you have a baby, trust me and try it out!
But the uses of Arm & Hammer don’t stop with your house! It can also be used for YOU! Did you know that you can brighten your smile by brushing with Arm & Hammer? How cool is that? Just sprinkle some Arm & Hammer in your hand, dip a wet toothbrush in it and brush away! Or you can even mix 1 teaspoon full of baking soda in 1/2 cup water for a great mouthwash! But it doesn’t stop there! Arm & Hammer can also be used to soften your feet by using it in a soak or to clean your cuticles by making a paste of three parts baking soda and one part water and and applying it to your cuticles! When it comes to beauty tips, the uses are really endless!
And here is one of my favorite ways to use Arm & Hammer that I love! If you have mildew on your shower head, just soak in it a mixture of 50/50 baking soda and water to rid yourself of that gross mildew and leave your shower heads shining!
I was amazed at the ways that Arm & Baking soda can be used! Now I won’t have to worry about running out during the holiday season when I run out of a certain cleaner or need a beauty treatment. Instead I will be able to grab my baking soda and create a cost saving way to take care of all my holiday needs! To me, that is something to get excited about since the Holidays are stressful enough without having to worry about keeping my house and myself looking and feeling great!
Tell me, do you have any great tips for using Arm & Hammer Baking soda to clean your home or freshen you up? I’m finding that the possibilities are endless (it can even clean fruit – woo hoo) and that Arm & Hammer is ready to meet your holiday needs in creative ways that will make it easy for you to conquer any mess this holiday season!
