Discover Lasagna Made Simple with this Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe!

My family loves delicious lasagna.  However, I can spend all afternoon in the kitchen putting it together and then waiting for it to bake. I mean, you have to boil noodles, preheat ovens, mix ingredients and then be tied to your stove for over an hour.  So, when I discovered that lasagna could be much, MUCH easier, I was thrilled!  With this simple crock pot lasagna recipe, you only have to do a small amount of prep work and then you can enjoy the rest of your day while your amazing dinner cooks to perfection!  Here’s how to make it.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

What You Will Need

2 Pounds of Ground Hamburger (or Turkey)

1 Large Sweet Onion

2 Jars of Prego Three Cheese Spaghetti Sauce

1 Can Rotel Tomatoes with Chilies (if you like a little kick)

2 Tablespoons of Minced Garlic

1 Box of Uncooked Lasagna Noodles

4 Cups of Mozzarella Cheese

2 Cups of Parmesan Cheese

3 Eggs

2 Boxes of Frozen Spinach

How to Make It

Start by browning your hamburger meat and sauteing your onions.  I do this at the same time to speed things up.  Once you hamburger mean is completely cooked, add your spaghetti sauce, can of {drained} rotel tomatoes, and minced garlic.  Stir the mixture well and allow it to continue cooking on low for about 15 minutes.

While your meat sauce is cooking, combine your cheeses (hold out 1/2 cup of mozzarella for topping) with three eggs and mix well.  Also, cook your spinach according to the directions and set it aside.  You will then be ready with your meat sauce, cheese mixture, spinach and noodles to start assembling your lasagna.

Once all your ingredients are ready, being layering them into your slow cooker.  Start with a little bit of meat sauce on the bottom.  Then layer your noodles (break them to cover as much of the space as possible), cheese mixture, spinach and meat sauce.

Repeat this layering method until you have used all your ingredients and your slow cooker is full.

Cook your lasagna on high for 3 to 4 hours and then turn it down to low until you are ready to eat.  If you are going to be gone all day, you can also cook it on low for 7 to 8 hours.  About 30 minutes before you are ready to serve it, sprinkle a half a cup of cheese over the top and let it melt.

When you are ready to serve it, be sure to dip your spoon straight down to ensure that you get all the layers in each serving.  Allow it to cook for about five minutes and then serve with garlic bread and a salad.

If you have leftovers (which you almost certainly will) put them in a freezer container and freeze!  This way you’ll have a meal ready for a future date that will require nothing more than re-heating!  Enjoy!
