This is a sponsored post for The Motherhood and Johnson & Johnson. All opinions on the importance of recycling are my own.
How many of you recycle? I hope lots of you are raising your hands right now because if you’re not, we need to talk. If you are, let me give you a little virtual pat on the back and then share with you how you can do even more.
We all know how important it is to recycle sometimes we don’t do it. Why? Well, we get lazy. We think one little person can’t make a difference. We simply forget. All these excuses have come out of my mouth at one time or the other. In fact, every once in a while I need a little reminder about what a big difference the seemingly small act of recycle can make.
I’ll admit that I recycle more in the rooms that I think about. I have a bin for cans in the kitchen. I have another one for newspapers in the living room. But I all too often forget about recycling in the bathroom. I toss my bottles into the little trash can next to the toilet. I forget about the need to recycle those old toilet paper rolls. But this month, I’m making it my job to teach my family why recycling in the bathroom is important! And now I invite you to join me! You see, later this month my family will be celebrating America Recycle Day, the ONLY nationally recognized day dedicated to recycling! And to celebrate, we want you to join in on the bathroom recycling fun!
So, what are some easy ways that you can show your family you #CareToRecycle? It’s actually easier than you may think! You know that little trash can everyone has sitting next to their toilet? Add a second one and label it “RECYCLABLES ONLY!”. Then encourage your family to put the items that can (and should be) recycled there instead of in the trash can. Items like plastic bottles, toilet paper rolls and even the boxes that some of your favorite bathroom products come in. Then you can easily transfer them to your larger bins to cut back on waste and make a big difference!
Feeling even more creative? Why not turn your trash into something super cute. You all know I have a preschooler who LOVES crafts. Since he loves to turn something old into something new, every week I sort through our bathroom recyclables and pull out several products for him to give new life too. Not sure what I mean? Would you guess that this cute craft started out as an old toilet paper roll?
Or how about this one? It’s perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and you guessed it! It started out as a toilet paper roll too!
That’s the thing! With a little creativity and a few discarded products, you can stop throwing away your used items and turn them into something really special! I know that I personally have a list a mile long of toilet paper roll crafts that I want to make with my little guy! And then I’ll start thinking of fun ways to breath new life into plastic bottles, Kleenex boxes and more!
Do you have fabulous ideas like the ones I shared above? If you do, get ready to share them (and win for it too!). We invite you to help celebrate America Recycles Day by sharing why you #CareToRecycle on the Care To Recycle® gallery, Twitter, Vine, or Instagram! Share a tip. Post a fun craft that started out as trash in your bathroom. Inspire others! And don’t forget to use the hashtags #CareToRecycle and #entry on your submission for a chance to win a prize pack from Johnson & Johnson!
I know I’ll be sharing my ideas and hoping to find toms of inspiration as well. In fact, I can’t wait to find out more about where to recycle, what to recycle, inspirational quotes and even bathroom recycling products at www.caretorecycle.com. I love that Care To Recycle® believes that recycling can become a fun family activity and a way for parents to do projects with their kids, while incorporating educational components along the way. And I can’t wait to be a part of the experience!
