With Thanksgiving approaching, I’ve been spending lots of time thinking about the items that will go on my table. For our celebration, each of the five families will be bringing their favorite foods to contribute to the Thanksgiving feast. In the past I’ve always brought rolls. And while plain old rolls and butter are always a hit, I decided that I would take things up a notch this year. I wanted something that was the perfect combination of flavors. Something that everyone would go back for seconds of. And of course, if it could make eating veggies fun for the kids, that was an added bonus. So armed with an idea of what I wanted to do, I set to work this weekend in the kitchen creating Cheesy Spinach Pinwheel Rolls that I’m sure the entire family is going to adore!
What You Will Need:
Pillsbury Seamless Dough Sheet
4 Ounces of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 Package of Frozen Spinach
1/4 Cup of Parmesan Cheese
How to Make Them:
Start by rolling out your seamless dough sheet on a baking sheet. Then soften your cream cheese just enough to make it spreadable and spread it evenly over the top of the dough.
Next cook your spinach and drain it well. Once it is drained, spread it evenly over your cream cheese.
Starting on the far side of your dough, gently roll up the tough long ways, keeping it as tightly rolled as possible to seal in the filling.
Place your rolled up dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until it feels firm to the touch. Then remove it from the fridge and using a sharp knife cut it in inch thick sections. Place those sections on a greased baking sheet without allowing them to touch.
Bake your rolls at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Them remove them from the oven and sprinkle a small amount of Parmesan cheese over the top of each roll.
Return your rolls to the oven for about 2 minutes – just long enough to melt the cheese over the top. Then remove them from the oven and serve them immediately.
I will say that these taste best when served warm but even if you need to make them ahead of time, simply pop the rolls in the microwave for about 25 seconds to warm them back up the ooey gooey perfection!
