It’s no secret that as a mom of boys, breakfast foods are a big deal in our home. Both of my boys are extreme breakfast lovers. Give them pancakes, waffles, eggs and sausage any time of the day and they are happy, happy, happy! So over the years, I’ve mastered the art of getting a delicious breakFEAST on the table. While my tips, tricks and ideas have changed as my boys have grown, one thing that helps me to serve up a delicious breakfast inspired meal any time of the day (but especially on weekday mornings) is Hungry Jack mixes and syrups. With a taste my kiddos love and an easy to microwave bottle that ensures I can put a hot, delicious breakFEAST in front of them quickly and easily, these mixes and syrups are the inspiration for many weekday morning meals.
Now all you moms (and wives and sisters and daughters) know the importance of putting a really amazing breakFEAST on the table to fuel the day of everyone in your home. But I’m gonna admit something….at times I’ve found it challenging to come up with delicious ideas that everyone loves and that I can execute in a quick and easy fashion. While I’ve got weekend morning meals down to an art, I’ve struggled to recreate the weekend feeling on very busy weekday mornings. But, once I discovered how easy it was to make any day a breakFEAST with help from Hungy Jack, the ideas and recipes for filling morning meals that turn breakfast into the most anticipated meal of the day began to flow.
And I quickly discovered that with Hungry Jack I can take pancakes (and waffles) and syrup to the next level with easy and delicious breakfast creations like the ideas below.
Cinnamon Apple Waffles
What You Will Need:
1 and 1/2 Cups Hungry Jack Belgium Waffle Mix
1 Cup of Water
Hungry Jack Syrup
1 Large Apple
2 Tablespoons of Cinnamon (plus more for garnish)
How to Make It:
You all know my family is crazy about apple during the fall and surprisingly, there are few things simpler than Cinnamon Apple Waffles….especially when using Hungry Jack products to make them! To start my Cinnamon Apple Waffles, I cut and cored my apple and then sliced it into thin slices. Next, I added my apples along with 2 tablespoons of Hungry Jack syrup and my cinnamon to a saute pan and heated them over low, stirring them regularly.
While my apples were cooking, I mixed my Hungry Jack Belgium Waffle mix according to the directions on the package and added it to my Oster Stainless Steel Flip Waffle Maker.
With it’s non-stick surface, I was able to quickly and easily add my batter, cook my waffles and prepare my breakFEAST with very little effort! Once my waffles were ready, I simply removed them from the waffle maker and added them to a plate.
Then I placed my baked apples on top. Finally, I was ready for my syrup and thanks to the Hugry Jack syrup bottle that is uniquely designed to fit in the microwave, I was able to quickly and easily heat up my syrup without making a mess.
After pouring my syrup over the top of my waffles and apples, my Cinnamon Apple Waffles were almost complete. All that was left to do was add a little whipped cream and sprinkle on a little cinnamon and my delicious creation was ready to enjoy.
This Cinnamon Apple Waffle dish is a favorite in my family and can be made in fifteen short minutes, making it a perfect choice for busy mornings. But the best part is, with Hungry Jack mixes and syrup, the taste this dish delivers always brings my family running to the breakfast table.
But what about my savory breakfast lovers? For those in my family who prefer a heartier breakfast with meat and eggs (AKA the hubby), my bacon, egg and cheese pancakes are always a hit!
Bacon, Egg and Cheese Pancakes
What You Will Need:
Hungy Jack Pancake Mix
3/4 Cups of Milk
2 Tablespoons of Oil
Hungry Jack Syrup
4 Sausage Links
1/4 Cup of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
How to Make It:
While this may sounds like a somewhat strange breakFEAST combination, the mixture of savory and sweet is seriously amazing! To start my dish, I mixed up my Hungry Jack pancake mix according to the directions on the package and used my Oster Griddle with Warming Tray to cook my fluffly pancakes.
With a non-stick surface and built in warming tray, it’s the perfect way to ensure weekday breakfasts are always cooked to perfection. While my pancakes were cooking on my griddle, I quickly and easily cooked a few pieces of sausage and fried my egg. With my pancakes and my toppings cooked, I was able to quickly and easily add my pancakes to a plate. Next, it was back to the easy-to-heat and easy-to-pour bottle of Hungry Jack syrup. After heating the bottle in the microwave, I was able to take advantage of the easy pour cap to top my pancakes with delicious, warm syrup without making a mess.
Once my syrup was poured to perfection, I added my diced sausage links and my fried egg and sprinkled my cheddar cheese over the top.
Just like that, I had another quick and easy breakfast that feels like a total breakFEAST while being easy enough to whip up on weekday mornings.
I have to say, I could go on and on with easy breakfast ideas that are worth getting out of bed for….pumpkin spice pancake, pecan topped waffles…even classic chocolate chip pancakes topped with warm syrup.
