Growing up in the South, there are certain foods that just bring my childhood instantly rushing back. Like my mama before me, I know that Southern favorites like pimento cheese and deviled eggs are just a summer essential. Honestly, there is nothing like sitting out on the porch with a glass of sweet tea and a perfectly created snack while watching the fluffy clouds dance across the Carolina blue sky. With summer upon us in my home, I’ve had more time to whip up some classic summer snacks and more importantly, I’ve had time to get creative and combine unforgettable flavors to create instant new favorites for my family. While I’ll say that since school has gotten out, we’ve eaten more than our fair share of pimiento cheese sandwiches (a summer must), I’ve also discovered that adding my beloved Price*s Pimiento Cheese Spread to my deviled eggs (and truthfully pretty much everything else) brings that taste of summer home in a way unlike any other. With a little creativity, a little experimentation and a lot of help from the unmatched taste of Price*s Pimiento Cheese, I’ve created our new summer favorite snack of Rosemary, Bacon and Pimiento Cheese Deviled Eggs. Now, I know what you’re thinking…that sounds amazing! And it totally is. So follow along and learn how to make this new twist on a classic Southern dish!
Now, anyone who has grown up in the South knows that if there are two things that scream Southern cuisine, it’s deviled eggs and pimiento cheese. Knowing this since I myself grew up on these staples, I decided it would be fun to combine the two in a unique way to create a summer snack that has an elevated flavor but still brings back memories of growing up in the South. But before I could start this simple summer snack, I needed to stock up on the best pimiento cheese. After heading to my local grocery store, I had the classic taste of Price*s Pimiento cheese in hand and was able to easily combine the rich, creamy and slightly sweet taste of this summer treat with a classic recipe to create a truly unforgettable dish!
What You Will Need
One Dozen Eggs (Boiled and Peeled)
12 Ounces of Price*s Pimiento Cheese Spread
1/4 Cup of Bacon (Crumbled)
3 Tablespoons of Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Minced Rosemary
Pimentos for Garnish
How to Make It
These Rosemary, Bacon and Pimiento Cheese Deviled Eggs don’t take long to whip up, making them perfect for summer evenings with the family and as an added bonus, they are impressive enough to use when entertaining. To start, I boiled a dozen eggs (for fifteen minutes), allowed them to cool and then peeled them. Once my eggs were peeled, I sliced them in half and scooped the cooked yokes out into a bowl.
Once all of my cooked egg yokes were in a bowl, I added in my mayonnaise and Price*s Pimiento Cheese Spread and stirred it together well (*Note: You can use a mixer if you like a smoother deviled egg filling).
Next, I added in 3/4 of my crumbled bacon and half of my minced rosemary (reserving the remainder for garnish) and combined all the ingredients just enough for them to all mix together.
Once my filling for my rosemary, bacon and pimiento cheese deviled eggs was prepared, I place my waiting cooked egg while on a platter and filled each one with my perfectly prepared mixture that boasted the classic taste of Price*s Pimiento Cheese.
After sprinkling the remainder of my bacon and rosemary on top of my prepared pimiento cheese deviled eggs, I added a sliced pimiento to each one and my summer creation was complete.
By using plenty of Price*s Pimiento Cheese Spread, I was assured that each and every bite of my rosemary, bacon and pimiento cheese deviled eggs was creamy, delicious and tasted totally amazing!
As my family tasted their first bites, I knew I had create a twist on a summer classic that is sure to make repeat appearances throughout the coming months. With the elevated tastes and comforting flavors, this summer snack was everything I hoped it would be and more. And the best part is, each time I taste a bite of my rosemary, bacon and pimiento cheese deviled eggs, I’m reminded of my childhood and Southern flavors that never go out of style!
