School is back in session in our part of the country and that means it’s time to get creative when it comes to after school snacking! So when Mode.com asked me to partner with them for a sponsored post sharing some of my favorite ways to make after school snacking fun, I was thrilled to share my ideas. While compensation was received, all opinions are my own.
I’ll admit it – coming up with fun snacks that my preschooler and his friends enjoy after a long day at school can be a challenge. Where I used to set out cheerios and juice, I now am challenged to come up with creative ideas that are preschool cool! At first I thought “Forget it! They can eat what I give them or else…” but then I changed my mind and rose to the challenge! And since I’m now becoming a master at fun snacking, I figured I’d share a few of my tips with you too!
Tip 1: Search Out Creative Ideas
Having creative ideas is the first step to making preschool snack time a smashing success. Now, while some of you may just have a head full of amazing ideas, I needed a little help! So I headed to Mode.com and put together a collection of fruit filled snack ideas that are sure to make after school snacking the most memorable time of the day.
These creative ways to transform fruits are not only my key to ensuring that my kids are snacking healthy but they are a super fun way to turn snack time into one of the most fun times of the day!
Tip 2: Experiment
Once you’ve got a list of great ideas for making snack time fun be willing to experiment with them. Try your hand at a few. Switch out some of the ingredients for fruits that your child likes more. Mix it up in general and use the ideas simply as a guide. By having a starting point but using your own creativity to make snack time special for your child you’ll be able to come up with combinations that are sure to be a success.
Tip 3: If at First You Don’t Succeed…Try, Try Again
Remember that every creation you come up with may not be a success. If it leaves your child sputtering or sticking out their tongue, don’t get discouraged! Instead put the idea aside, move on and try it again later with a different combination of foods! Pay careful attention to what items are a hit and what items are not well received. Then come up with your own creations to make snack time the most fun time of the day!
With the tips above and a little patience, it’s easy to make snack time fun! I’m working my way through my entire collection of creative ideas and I know that as I do, I’ll be turning my preschooler’s snack time into a fun way to get more fruits into his diet!
Tell me, how do you make snack time fun for your kiddos?
