I’ll admit it ya’ll…I’m totally enjoying the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer! With temperatures rising into the 90’s, my family and I are soaking in the sunshine and spending tons of time outdoors. While I’ll admit that the first half of summer was a little crazy and we were constantly on the go, I’ve made the second half of summer more about creating memorable moments and have been working on ways to take the “rushed” feeling out of our schedule. While that doesn’t mean we’re not at the pool or the park pretty much every day, it does mean that I’ve also found ways to make more of my time at home, relaxing in the beautiful setting and sipping the day away with a delicious homemade Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe!
I’m gonna tell you, for this coffee loving mama, I’ve been struggling with the crazy hectic routine of summer. I’ve been tired. I’ve been stressed. There have been moments that I haven’t even felt like it was summer. But I’m changing all that and finding the perfect way to relax on the front porch with friends while the kids run through the sprinkler. For me, it simply meant fining a way to create a perfect summer frappe that’s perfect for everyday and pairing it with the beauty of my surroundings to create an afternoon oasis that recharges my mama soul and gets me through the rest of the day. Knowing that I desperately wanted a COOL coffee-house inspired treat but also knowing that trips to the coffee-shop just don’t fit in with my summer schedule, I set out to create my very own Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe that is amazingly delicious…and you won’t believe how simple they are to make! To start, all I needed was International Delight® coffee creamer and Reddi-wip® from Walmart to create a truly summer-worthy creation!
What You Will Need:
(Makes 2 Large Frappes)
1 and 1/2 Cups of Fresh Brewed Coffee
2 Ripe Bananas
2 Tablespoons of Creamy Peanut Butter
3/4 of a Cup of International Delight® Hershey’s® Chocolate Caramel Coffee Creamer
Chocolate Syrup (for Garnish)
How to Make It:
This amazingly simple Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe can be whipped up in just a few quick moments…if you prep correctly. Now, I know many people put ice in their frappes but if you really want a deliciously coffee flavored frappe, the secret is coffee ice cubes! Yes, you heard that right and I totally keep my fridge stocked with these because they are so simple and so amazing! To make them, I brewed one and a half cups of coffee like I normally would and the poured them into ice molds.
Six to eight hours in the freezer had them perfectly ready to go (so be sure to make these the night before)! These are literally the secret to the best ever frappes and a “don’t skip” step in the process! Once my coffee ice cubes were frozen, putting together my Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe was simple! First, I peeled my one of my bananas and dipped the ends of it in my chocolate sauce, placing it aside to allow it to set.
Next, I added my coffee ice cubes to my blender.
With my coffee ice cubes in place, I added in my remaining banana (cut into slices for easier bending) and my peanut butter.
Finally, I poured in my sweet and creamy International Delight® Hershey’s® Chocolate Caramel Coffee Creamer that is the perfect way to make any occasion feel like a party!
After a quick yet thorough blend to ensure my frappe was thick, delicious and completely creamy, it was time to pour it into my glasses. Now, I KNOW that I could just pour it in a plain glass and enjoy it as is but honestly, I like things that are pretty. They make me happy and during the long summer days, they make me extra happy! So, to really take my Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe to the next level, I pulled out a glass and drizzled chocolate syrup around the inside of it.
Next, I poured in my perfectly prepared Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe, filling my glass about three fourths of the way full.
Finally, I was ready to take this summer drink to a whole new level and make it a party in my mouth so I pulled out my Reddi-wip that is made from cows not treated with artificial growth hormone and has no artificial flavors or sweeteners and used it to generously top my Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe.
Finally, as a finishing touch, I drizzled more chocolate syrup across the top (because why not?) and added my piece of chocolate covered banana for a finishing touch that looked amazing!
Just like that I had the perfect way to turn any summer afternoon into a party! Not only did my Peanut Butter Mocha Banana Frappe look amazing but it tasted divine as well!
